Teen SEGMENT 1 REQUIREMENTS
In order for your teen to be eligible for Driver Education in the Muskegon, Grandville, Ludington, or Ravenna areas, he or she must be a minimum age of 14 years and 8 months to register and be ready to complete 26 hours of classroom instruction, 6 hours of driving, and 4 hours of observation. Depending on the location and time of year, 2 hours of driving could be on the range. Ranges aren’t located at the classroom, and they will need to be dropped off and picked up at the range locations. The written exam consists of 80 multiple choice questions, which each student must pass with a score of 70% or better. Drives can sometimes take up to three weeks after the last day of class to complete. Once the classroom and driving requirements are completed the student will receive a certificate to obtain a Level I License from the Secretary of State.
